Davis Instruments Vantage Vue with WeatherLink Console (6242)

D2 Cloud-Optional — Full function with the router off.

The unplug test

Everything you actually bought keeps working. The sensor suite outside goes on transmitting to the console over its own radio every 2.5 seconds regardless of your internet, and the console keeps displaying and graphing from a database stored in the console itself. You lose uploads to WeatherLink Cloud, the online community, and the optional Alexa integration. You do not lose a single reading.

Why this tier: A vendor cloud exists (WeatherLink Cloud) and is genuinely optional: the sensor suite links to the console over Davis's own local radio, the full historical database lives on the console, and every measurement and graph works with no Wi-Fi and no account.
