Denon DCD-900NE
D0 No Radio — No radio at all. It cannot phone home.
The unplug test
It plays the disc in the tray, or the files on a USB stick, the same way regardless of what your network is doing, because it has never had a network connection to lose. Insert a CD or plug in a USB drive, press play. There is no app, no account, and no cloud dependency to describe.
Why this tier: The manufacturer's own info sheet gives a complete ports table: optical digital out, coaxial digital out, gold-plated RCA analog out, a Denon proprietary remote-control-bus jack for chaining components, and a front USB-A port for playing files from a USB stick. There is no Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, or app anywhere in the document — the USB port is a playback source, not a network or computer connection.

Open questions
- The 'Remote Control Bus In/Out' jack links Denon components together (e.g. to let a Denon amplifier's remote also control this player) — worth a reader double-checking this is not confused with any form of networking, though nothing in the source material suggests it carries anything beyond IR-repeater signals.

Class A is primary (manual, FCC filing, teardown). Class B is corroborated community reporting. Class C is never sufficient alone.

Manufacturer info sheet 'Ports' table: Digital Optical Out (yes, in: no), Digital Coaxial Out (yes, in: no), gold-plated RCA analog out, 'Remote Control Bus In/Out' (Denon's own proprietary IR-linking bus between Denon components, not a network interface), and 'USB Audio (Front): Yes' for playing MP3/FLAC/WAV/DSD files from a USB stick. No Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, or app referenced anywhere in the two-page document. — accessed 2026-09-02 - A https://www.denon.com/en-us/product/cd-players/dcd-900ne/300514.html
Manufacturer product page confirms the device is a current, in-production CD player in Denon's lineup and that the front USB-A port is for local playback of audio files, not network or computer connectivity. — accessed 2026-09-02
