Honda EU2200i (base, non-Companion, AG/AN wiring type)
D0 No Radio — No radio at all. It cannot phone home.
The unplug test
This generator has no network to lose. It is a pull-start (or optional electric-start) engine, an inverter, and a control panel with an oil-alert light and an eco-throttle switch. The base wiring diagram contains no Bluetooth module at all — only the EU2200i Companion variant has the radio soldered in — so there is no app, no pairing, and nothing that changes behavior whether or not any network exists nearby.
Why this tier: The manufacturer's own shared owner's manual for the EU2200i / EU2200i Companion line prints two distinct wiring diagrams: the base 'AG, AN TYPE' diagram has no radio component at all, while the 'AG1, AN1 TYPE' diagram (the Companion variant) shows a discrete 'BLUETOOTH UNIT' wired into the control panel. The manual states the My Generator app works 'only with Honda generators equipped with Bluetooth technology' — the base EU2200i is not one of them.

Where to buy
Open questions
- FCC grantee search for Honda Motor Co. (grantee prefixes including N43) was inconclusive within budget — did not turn up a specific grant for the Companion's Bluetooth unit to use as an explicit sibling-grant citation, though the manual's own wiring diagrams are direct manufacturer evidence and were treated as sufficient.
- Honda's model-number suffixes (T, TAG1, TAN1, etc.) encode electric-start, parallel-ready, and Companion/Bluetooth options in ways that are easy to buy the wrong variant of — a buyer should check the generator 'Type' code (AG/AN = no radio, AG1/AN1 = Bluetooth) on the spec plate or box, not just the headline 'EU2200i' name.

Class A is primary (manual, FCC filing, teardown). Class B is corroborated community reporting. Class C is never sufficient alone.

Manufacturer owner's manual for EU2200i / EU2200i Companion: specifications table lists both models side by side (Generator 'Type' AG/AG3/AN/AN3 for base EU2200i vs AG1/AN1 for Companion); the wiring diagram section prints a separate 'AG, AN TYPE' schematic with no radio component, and an 'AG1, AN1 TYPE' schematic that adds a labeled 'BLUETOOTH UNIT' block. Text states the My Generator app functions (remote stop, monitoring, notifications) work 'only with Honda generators equipped with Bluetooth technology.' — accessed 2026-09-02 - B https://www.remodelormove.com/do-all-honda-eu2200i-generators-have-bluetooth/
Independent corroboration that standard EU2200i units do not have Bluetooth and that only the EU2200i Companion (EU2200iC) ships with the built-in Bluetooth radio for the My Generator app. — accessed 2026-09-02
