The unplug test
This device has no opinion about your router. It is a clock motor, a dial, and two little metal trippers you slide around the rim to say when the contact should close. You set it with your fingers. It will still be doing exactly this in twenty years, and the only failure mode is a worn clock motor, which is a replaceable part.
Why this tier: An electromechanical time switch: a synchronous clock motor turns a dial, and physical trippers throw a 40 A contact. There is no logic board, no radio, and nothing to configure in software.
