Kitchen & Cooking / stand mixer
KitchenAid K45SS (Classic Series, 4.5 Qt Tilt-Head Stand Mixer)
D0 No Radio — No radio at all. It cannot phone home.
The unplug test
You turn the speed lever to a number between 0 and 10 and the motor spins the attachment hub at that speed until you turn it back down. Tilting the head back locks it mechanically with a lever, not a sensor. Unplugging and replugging it returns it to exactly the same state, because there is no state to lose — no clock, no memory, no account, nothing that ever talks to KitchenAid.
Why this tier: The manufacturer's own owner's manual documents the entire control surface as a single mechanical Speed Control lever moved between 10 marked detents, describes attachments (flat beater, wire whip, dough hook, and hub-driven accessories) purely mechanically, and contains no mention of an app, WiFi, Bluetooth, or programmable memory anywhere in 19 pages. Electrical section lists only voltage/frequency; a 250-watt universal motor per retailer listings.

Open questions
- The manual notes the wattage rating is printed on a tag under the mixer base rather than in the document itself; 250W is corroborated only by retailer listings, not the manual text directly.

Class A is primary (manual, FCC filing, teardown). Class B is corroborated community reporting. Class C is never sufficient alone.

KitchenAid's own K45SSWH Owner's Manual (mirrored by a parts retailer): Tilt-Head Stand Mixer Features diagram labels a single 'Speed Control Knob'/lever; Speed Control Guide lists 10 numbered mechanical detents (Stir, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10) each tied to a mixing task; Electrical Requirements section lists only 120 V.A.C./60 Hz. No app, WiFi, Bluetooth, or digital-control feature appears anywhere in the 19-page manual. — accessed 2026-09-03 - C https://www.amazon.com/KitchenAid-Classic-250-Watt-2-Quart-Almond/dp/B00004SGFX
