The unplug test
There is no router to unplug from in the first place. The DS1054Z is a bench oscilloscope that displays and analyses signals entirely on its own 7-inch screen; the Ethernet port exists only for local SCPI remote control from a PC on the same bench, over your own cable, to your own software. No app, no account, and no vendor server are involved at any point in normal use.
Why this tier: Manufacturer and independent hardware documentation list only wired interfaces (USB host, USB device, Ethernet/LAN for local SCPI remote control). No WiFi, Bluetooth or any wireless radio is documented anywhere, and Rigol holds no FCC equipment authorization under its own name at all, consistent with a lineup that ships no wireless capability to certify.

- fccid.io search for grantee 'Rigol' returned no company match at all (only an unrelated 'Marigold Enterprises'), so this is an absence-of-grant finding with no sibling grant to contrast against — weaker by the letter of the FCC heuristic than a case where the same vendor is shown filing for other radio-equipped products. Treat as corroborating, not primary, evidence.
- Whether the LAN/SCPI interface exposes any interface beyond raw SCPI (e.g. a web control panel) was not confirmed; noted as local_api: unknown pending a look at the programming manual.
