Sennheiser HD 600
D0 No Radio — No radio at all. It cannot phone home.
The unplug test
There is no router involved anywhere in this device's operation. The HD 600 is a passive, wired headphone: plug the cable into an amplifier or headphone jack and it produces sound. It has no battery to charge, no Bluetooth to pair, and no firmware — a pair bought in the 1990s and a pair bought today work identically.
Why this tier: The manufacturer's own product page describes an open-back dynamic driver headphone with a detachable analog cable (3.5mm with 6.3mm adapter, or an optional balanced cable) as the only connection. There is no battery, no charging port, and no wireless variant of this model — Sennheiser sells Bluetooth headphones under entirely separate product lines (MOMENTUM, ACCENTUM).

Where to buy
Open questions
- No FCC search was run: a fully passive wired headphone with no battery and no active circuitry has no plausible radiator to certify, and the project's sibling-control heuristic does not apply to devices with no electronics at all.

Class A is primary (manual, FCC filing, teardown). Class B is corroborated community reporting. Class C is never sufficient alone.

Manufacturer product page: open-back dynamic driver design, detachable 3m OFC copper cable with 3.5mm plug and 6.3mm adapter as the sole connection method. The page's own cross-sell data lists replacement cables (standard and 4.4mm balanced) as spare parts for this exact model. 'Bluetooth' and 'Wireless' strings on the page belong to unrelated product-line navigation (MOMENTUM, ACCENTUM) rather than to this product's own specification. — accessed 2026-09-02 - B https://fullspecs.net/wired-headphone/sennheiser/hd-600-specifications/
Independent spec aggregation corroborating 300-ohm impedance, 12Hz-39kHz frequency response, and a 3m detachable dual-sided cable as the only connection, with no wireless capability listed. — accessed 2026-09-02
