Devices that still work when the internet doesn't.

Lighting & Electrical / surge protector

Tripp Lite ISOBAR6ULTRA

D0 No Radio — No radio at all. It cannot phone home.

The unplug test

This device does not know your router exists. It is a metal box full of varistors and chokes between the wall and your equipment, with three LEDs that light from the AC line itself, not from any logic. Losing internet changes nothing about it, ever, because nothing in it was ever connected to anything.

Why this tier: A purely passive surge suppressor: metal oxide varistors, toroidal chokes, ferrite inductors and capacitors feeding isolated filter banks, plus a mechanical circuit breaker and status LEDs. The manufacturer's own datasheet lists every component and control on the unit and none of them is a radio, microcontroller, app, or network interface.
