The unplug test
Nothing changes. The camera records to its microSD card whether or not a phone is nearby, and there is no vendor server involved even when you do use the app. The Wi-Fi is the camera's own access point: your phone joins it directly to change settings or pull clips. VIOFO does not offer remote viewing, so there is no cloud feature to lose.
