The unplug test
Nothing changes, and nothing ever could. The two units talk to each other directly over DECT — the same technology as a cordless phone — and neither has the hardware to reach your router, let alone the internet. There is no app, no account, no pairing to a phone, and no video stream sitting on someone's server. It is a radio link between two objects in your house.
Why this tier: FCC grants for both the baby unit and the parent unit cover DECT only (1921.536-1928.448 MHz) with no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. The single radio present is a point-to-point link between two units the owner holds, so there is no path to any vendor service.
