Zooz ZSE70 800 Series Z-Wave Long Range Outdoor Motion Sensor (Motion/Temp/Lux)
D1 Local Only — Speaks only to hardware you control.
The unplug test
Nothing changes, because the sensor was never talking to anything but the Z-Wave hub in the house. It reports motion, temperature, and light level over Z-Wave directly to whatever hub the owner paired it to; on a local hub (Home Assistant, Hubitat) that report never leaves the LAN. Losing home internet has no effect on detection or reporting at all. Only losing the hub itself, or its batteries, would.
Why this tier: Contains a Z-Wave 800-series radio under FCC grantee 2AZ2V (FCC ID 2AZ2V-ZSE70800), the same grantee Zooz uses on its other Z-Wave devices including the already-published zooz-zse41. Zooz's own manual, product page, and support-center FAQ for this model describe pairing only to a Z-Wave hub the owner supplies (Home Assistant, Hubitat, HomeSeer, SmartThings, Homey, Zooz's own local Z-Box, or a generic Z-Wave controller) and none mentions a Zooz account, app, or cloud service required for setup or operation.

Open questions
- Current US retail price band not established.
- The manufacturer's own manual PDF could not be text-extracted (binary/compressed stream) to directly quote its account/cloud language; the claim instead rests on the support-center manual, FAQ, and product pages, which state the same facts in readable form.
